Devlog & Patch Notes:

Hey everyone! Your local baldie here from Metaphorical Hotdog delivering some good news about our game.

With the Solarpunk Game Jam nearing its end, the team here at Metaphorical Hotdog has been passionately fixing bugs and adding some final touches (like SFX!) into the game. We're excited to announce you can now play it from start to finish! While this isn't the final version just yet, it's a fully playable build created with lots of love, sweat, and tears. Give it a try and join Popcorn on a journey to restore history and nature!

Gameplay & UI Improvements:

  • Triptych Widgets are now fully fixed and functional.,
  • Puzzle Room 3 has a new visual cue for text input to avoid confusion.,
  • Added an Exit Button to the ChoiceBubble to keep interactions smooth.,
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to open their inventory during dialogues.,
  • Added a backpack for enhanced visualization and to show how the user can open up the inventory.,
  • Implemented a temporary barrier preventing players from accessing the Outside Museum, as we've got plenty of trash piles inside the hub for now.,

Map Updates:

  • Significant map updates, including added sounds and music for a richer atmosphere.,
  • Tons of door-related bug fixes, particularly for Puzzle Rooms 2 and 3.,
  • Increased player speed slightly for better navigation.,
  • Added clear dialogue prompts to Puzzle Room 3's interactables to guide players better.,

Bug Fixes & Tweaks:

  • All tools are now properly integrated into the level.,
  • Additional trash piles placed inside the museum map for more interactive content.,
  • Fixed Puzzle Room 2 boxes, adding helpful dialogue prompts when players attempt repairs without the wrench.,
  • Metal and Plastic piles now properly interact after crafting, with persistent inventory fixes.,
  • Crafting button state correctly persists, preventing unintended multiple crafts across maps.,
  • Enhanced crafting system logic to reducing potential future bugs.,
  • Bug fixes to Triptych puzzles, players can exit or back out from a Triptych puzzle without issues and it'll save its last state.,

Visual & Audio Enhancements:

  • Brand-new VFX and SFX added to enrich interactions.,
  • Corrected emissive color issues on materials for better visual clarity.,
  • Triptych UI visuals boosted with new images for materials.,

Critical Fixes:

  • Resolved the bug affecting the Opening Cutscene, no more awkward interruptions.,
  • Electrical Panel logic is fixed, it now accurately detects if you have the necessary wire in your inventory.
